Functional description member of Cyclic nucleotide gated channel family, downstream component of the signaling pathways leading to HR resistance. mutant plants exhibit gene-for-gene disease resistance against avirulent Pseudomonas syringae despite the near-complete absence of the hypersensitive response (HR). Salicylic acid accumulation in dnd2 mutants is completely PAD4-independent.
