Functional description Encodes a homeodomain-containing transcription factor that controls flowering. FWA is silenced in wild type plants and reverse of the imprinted silencing causes a late flowering phenotype. FWA gene contains two tandem repeats around the transcription start site that are necessary and sufficient for silencing via DNA methylation.
