Gene ID At2g36270
Gene name ABI5 (ABA INSENSITIVE 5)
Functional description Encodes a member of the basic leucine zipper transcription factor family, involved in ABA signalling during seed maturation and germination. The Arabidopsis abscisic acid (ABA)-insensitive abi5 mutants have pleiotropic defects in ABA response, including decreased sensitivity to ABA inhibition of germination and altered expression of some ABA-regulated genes. Comparison of seed and ABA-inducible vegetative gene expression in wild-type and abi5-1 plants indicates that ABI5 regulates a subset of late embryogenesis-abundant genes during both developmental stages.

0.057e-446At1g45249841095ABF2 (ABSCISIC ACID RESPONSIVE ELEMENTS-BINDING FACTOR 2)Leucine zipper transcription factor that binds to the abscisic acid (ABA)–responsive element (ABRE) motif in the promoter region of ABA-inducible genes. Enhances drought tolerance in vegetative tissues. Required for normal glucose response. Localized in the nucleus. Expressed constitutively in roots, leaf vascular tissues, and hydathodes or in all tissues under stress conditions. It's phosphorylated by a ABA-activated 42-KDa kinase. Overexpression of the phosphorylated active form of AREB1 expressed many ABA-inducible genes, such as RD29B, without ABA treatment.O.I.C.G.S.X.
